Games news: Lego board games coming soon

New Lego board games should invade shortly all the markets of the world after their presentation at the last UK Toy Fair of London generated a lot of buzz and interests. So it’s official, LEGO Company Ltd too is about to debut in the world of board games, challenging classic board games like Monopoly and Scrabble with six “do-it-yourself” board games. This was really a innovative idea of the Lego creative lab: integrate constructions with board games to create a new game concept with two games in one. In fact, before play the new Lego board games, children must build the three-dimensional playground using constructions bricks and they can have fun reassembling the pieces in new configurations for different board games versions. The most interesting board game seems to be the “Ramses Pyramid” in which children have to build a pyramid and then collect a series of crystals along the way to liberate the mummy. These new board games will be firstly released in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and Ireland at the end of 2009 (probably during the Christmas shopping period), with more countries to follow in 2010.
